Privacy Policy
Last updated October 19, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Tiffany Holdings LLC, doing business as Fillo ("Fillo," "we," "us," or "our"), collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you visit fillo.life, join our waitlist, create an account, use the Fillo Autofill browser extension, or receive messages from us (together, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Account details: email address, a password (stored only as a one-way hash), and an optional mobile phone number.
- Profile details you choose to enter: name, profile photo, school, major, graduation year, enrollment status, home and school state, goals, and a financial goal.
- Optional demographic details: gender identity, race/ethnicity, and first-generation status. Some scholarships are limited to particular groups, so we use these only to find scholarships you may qualify for. Every one can be left blank.
- Uploads and writing: an unofficial transcript or resume, and the essay and short-answer drafts you write in Fillo.
- Activity in the app: scholarships you save, mark as applied, or mark as won, and a record of the notifications we send you.
- Billing status if you subscribe. Card details go directly to Stripe; Fillo never sees or stores them.
- Communications: messages you send us, such as support requests or feedback.
Information collected automatically
- Basic technical information such as IP address, browser and device type, and the date and time of requests, which our hosting provider records to run and secure the site.
- Cookies: Fillo uses only the cookies it needs to keep you signed in and to finish the login process. We do not use advertising or third-party analytics cookies.
- Push notifications: if you turn them on, your browser gives us a push subscription token so we can send you alerts.
2. How we use your information
We use your information to:
- match you to scholarships based on your profile;
- send deadline reminders, match alerts, tips, login codes, and account messages;
- give feedback on essays and short answers when you ask for help;
- fill known profile fields on scholarship application pages when you use the Fillo Autofill extension;
- process subscriptions;
- respond to your questions and provide support;
- keep the Service secure and prevent fraud or misuse;
- comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your profile or demographic details for third-party advertising.
3. Text messaging
If you give us a phone number, we use it to text you one-time login codes. If you also check the optional text alerts box, at sign-up or later in your profile, you agree to receive recurring automated text messages from Fillo with scholarship deadline reminders and account alerts. Checking that box is never required to use Fillo or to buy anything.
Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any message to opt out, or HELP for help, or email info@fillo.life. You can also turn text alerts off in your profile at any time.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Information sharing with subcontractors in support services, such as message delivery, is permitted. All other categories of sharing described in this policy exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties. Your phone number is shared only with the service provider that delivers our text messages (Twilio), solely so they can deliver them.
4. How we share information
These providers process data on our behalf, only to run Fillo:
- Supabase: database hosting.
- Vercel: website hosting and file storage for uploaded documents.
- Brevo: delivery of emails.
- Twilio: delivery of text messages.
- Stripe: payment processing for subscriptions.
- Anthropic: when you ask for essay or short-answer help, the text you submit and relevant profile details are sent to Anthropic's Claude API to generate suggestions.
We may also share information:
- At your direction, for example when you use the Autofill extension to fill a scholarship provider's application page;
- For legal reasons, when required by law, subpoena, or court order, or when we believe in good faith that disclosure is needed to protect the rights, property, or safety of Fillo, our users, or others;
- In a business transfer, if Fillo is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this policy.
We may share aggregated or de-identified information that cannot reasonably be used to identify you.
5. Students and children
Fillo is intended for people who are 13 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, contact us at info@fillo.life and we will delete it.
Fillo is built for students, and some are under 18. If you are under 18, please review this policy with a parent or guardian. A parent or guardian can contact us to review or delete a student's information.
6. Your choices and rights
- Access and update: you can edit or remove most profile information and delete uploaded documents from your profile.
- Notifications: you can turn off text, email, and push alerts from your profile. Reply STOP to any text to opt out.
- Delete: Fillo does not have a self-serve account deletion button yet. To delete your account or data, email info@fillo.life and we'll handle it manually. We may keep limited information where required by law or for legitimate business purposes, such as a record of your SMS opt-out.
- State privacy rights: depending on where you live, you may have rights to know what personal information we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, or to opt out of certain processing. To make a request, email info@fillo.life. We will verify your request and respond within the time required by law, and we will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
7. How long we keep information
We keep personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. If you join only the waitlist, we keep your contact information until you create an account or ask us to remove it. We may keep certain information longer to meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements.
8. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please use a strong, unique password and keep it confidential.
9. Third-party sites
Fillo links to scholarship providers and other websites we do not control. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, and we encourage you to review them before sharing information.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the date at the top of this page and notify you by email or through the Service. Continuing to use Fillo after the changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
